Ascension Thursday

Deo Gratias!

The Traditional Latin Mass on Ascension Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, South Bend, had a great turn out! It was truly heartening to see so many young people at Mass tonight. It gives me great hope for the future, and I personally appreciate the spirit and faith of these young men and women so in love with Tradition.

I would also like to thank the choir for the beautiful chant, and Fr. Gabet for making the drive up here to northern Indiana.

Before he allowed the visiting missionary priest to give his talk during the homily, Fr. Gabet briefly spoke about the importance of attending Mass on these days, despite the obligation being waived in our diocese. In summary, he said that if you really love the Tridentine Mass, then you also should really feel obliged to attend this Mass on holy days of obligation. If these holy days really mean anything to you, and they should if you love everything about the TLM, then you should be at Mass. So I would encourage all of you to attend Mass on Thursday, for your own good and so that we will continue to have the TLM on these holy days.
